Elysia is neurodivergent and has lived experience of an eating disorder (in a larger body), chronic illness, and disability.
She is a Registered Psychologist working with neurodivergent young people in Melbourne, Victoria. Elysia is also a speaker, workshop facilitator, and hosts and presents at large-scale events celebrating bodies in all of their forms, with a particular focus on fat positivity, weight neutrality and all aspects of intersectionality and marginalisation.
Elysia holds a Masters in Professional Psychology, Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology, Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology) and Postgraduate Certificate in International and Community Development. She is also currently in the process of becoming ANZAED & NEDC accredited as an eating disorder clinician. Furthermore, Elysia sits on various committees and working groups related to body image and eating disorders, and is passionate about positively impacting the healthcare experiences of neurodivergent people as well as people existing in marginalised bodies.
Elysia is also a parent of a toddler and spends the majority of her non-working time enjoying playing at the park or bouncing on trampolines with her child, or engaging in creative practices that bring her joy such as songwriting, singing, watercolour art or reading fiction.
